A big thank you to Andover Leisure Centre for offering 15 climbing places to AYC free of charge in February. The young carers who attended the climbing session funded for us by Places Leisure got the chance to try out Clip ‘n’ Climb. They had a great time and were very brave in tackling the different climbing walls. Several also tried the Leap of Faith.
There was a great atmosphere with the young carers encouraging each other. After the session we had lunch together and chatted about the session and other outings that might be of interest to them. Suggestions included laser tag or paintball, a more advanced climbing wall, the beach, more watersports, camping out. A couple of the young carers were also given a tour of the leisure centre as they were interested in finding out more about the facilities.
