Charity Golf Day raises £9,214 for AYC!

On Tuesday 1st September we welcomed Jerry Lee and Andy Evans from Andover Golfing Society along with Phil Cook from Barclays Bank and Caroline Sturt from Shaw Gibbs to the Bungalow for a cheque presentation.

Andover Golfing Society held their annual Charity Day this year at Leckford Golf Courses in aid of Andover Young Carers. After a welcome briefing over coffee, 71 players enjoyed a great afternoon’s golf on one the finest golf courses in Hampshire and which, as usual, was in great condition. This was followed by dinner with prizes, a raffle and an auction. Thanks to some generous sponsorship [especially from Barclays Bank and Shaw Gibbs] some very kindly donated auction items, and some ‘mischievous fines’ for what might be called ‘imperfect play’, an amazing £9214 was raised for AYC.

Amanda Kelly, AYC Charity Executive said, “A huge thank you to Andover Golfing Society for hosting a successful golf day and through everyone’s generosity raising an incredible amount of money for Andover Young Carers. These much-needed funds will help us continue supporting young carers across our community.”

Caring for someone you love can be hard work, and as a young person even harder. At Andover Young Carers we aim to be a consistent support these young people can rely on, as well as somewhere they get a chance to relax and have some fun.
