Spring has Sprung, and now WE’RE BACK

There is no doubt, that the past year has been a strange time for all. A year ago on reflection, for many, we were faced with an uncertain future; each step forward was a step onto unknown land because in the truth of the situation (Covid-19), we really did not know what the next year was going to bring.

Nevertheless, AYC bounced back at Easter 2021 with a fire in our bellies, ready and raring to, at last, see our wonderful young carers face to face again.

With thanks to the staff and volunteers at AYC, we ran five small group sessions across the Easter Holidays, providing crafty activities, outdoor games, and a picnic lunch for all. Our older group (ages 15-18) even received the luxury of an ‘Afternoon Tea’ complete with classic FM playing on arrival (and a rather limited waitressing service).Overall, AYC managed to see 50 children across the Easter Holidays, and give each child an activities pack to take home and enjoy. We can’t thank HCC Connect4Communities enough for the funding you have given AYC to provide the support and ultimate respite time for our young carers.
